Delete your HitchRoute account
You can request account and personal-data deletion at any time.
How to request deletion
- Send a deletion request using the button below.
- Email us from the address associated with your HitchRoute account, or include the verified phone number on the account.
- We may contact you to verify account ownership before processing the request.
Signed-in users can also find this option under Account in the HitchRoute app.
What will be deleted or de-identified
After verification, we will delete or de-identify your account details, contact information, mailing address, profile information and image, saved location, notification subscriptions, social connections, private notes, and other personal information associated with the account.
What may be retained
Some information may be retained when reasonably necessary for safety, fraud and abuse prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or enforcement of our terms. Public reviews, community posts, reports, and messages involving other users may be retained in de-identified form so conversations, safety records, and campground information remain coherent. Information may also remain in encrypted backups for a limited period before routine deletion.
